In order to promote the new version of my social bookmarking site WpVote, I decided to run a new contest as many of you enjoyed the previous ones. This time, you have the chance to win one of the Gabfire premium themes!

What is WpVote?

I created WpVote on August 2008 to be the “Digg site for WordPress fanatics”. The site quickly grew but few problems appeared: First, the Pligg CMS which was used at the time wasn’t easy to modify and had a few annoying bugs. And secondly, the site was constantly spammed and everyday, hours of spam deletion were due. At the fall of 2008, due to spamming issues, WpVote was kind of abandonned.

I first thought about selling it, but I was sad about forgetting a good idea I had. This is why last month, I decided to give WpVote a second life by rebuilding the site.
As a WordPress fanatic myself, I finally managed to create a “digg-like” app within WordPress. Currently, WpVote runs 100% within WordPress. WP core haven’t been modified, all the new functions are custom or from the excellent TDO Mini Forms plugin.

So, if you’re blogging about WordPress, don’t hesitate to join WpVote to promote your posts over the WordPress community! All links are Dofollow, but please note that WpVote only accepts posts about WordPress, and in English only.

Thanks a lot for taking time to comment on the article Jean. I have corrected the mistake. Also, i have one small concern with the way WpVote works which I have put in the last paragraph. It would be great if you can comment on that as well.

The article that you can write about wpvote must be in english?

  10. Posted March 8, 2009 at 3:42 pm | Permalink

@Dany: You can write the post about WpVote in the language you want. Therefore, WpVote accepts only articles in English.

@All: Good luck for the contest!

WPVote sounds like a great site idea. However, it’s only for posts ABOUT wordpress? This seems kind of limiting.

It is really an interesting concept to start with, Loved and had a chance to read all the favourite entries here. Wpvote is more than what digg like fakes have to offer, it is the best platform to discuss and share my wordpress blogs
