I already talked about web hosting in this blog because even if hosting if extremly important, it is often neglected by bloggers. Today, let's explore a new service created especially for those who are using WordPress: WP Webhost.

The importance of a good web host

In the past, I had several problems about hosting and web hosts. Just like everyone, I wanted the cheapest because I didn’t wanted to pay much, but I neglected the quality. As you can guess, my sites were experimenting lots of downtimes, slow loading, etc.
This made me look cheap and unprofessionnal. Can you imagine digg.com being down twice a week? No, definitely.

As being “blog-addicted”, I read lots and lots of different blogs per day. And most of us loads slow, or even worst, are down, for exemple after being featured on digg.com frontpage.

A webhost dedicated to WordPress users

Just like any other software, WordPress have particular needs. Sure, it can run on any web host which have MySQL and PHP installed. But it can work even better if the host is optimized especially for the popular blogging software.

This is the purpose of WP WebHost: Being a host 100% dedicated to WordPress blogs. Also, WP WebHost differs from other hosting companies by providing WordPress-related issues support. The support staff can help you on any WordPress installation, configuration, plugins and themes issue.

WP Webhost Features

Here’s a quick summary of what WP WebHost can offer you:

  • 50GBs of web space
  • 500GBs of monthly bandwidth
  • Host up to 50 domain names
  • WordPress-compatible server
  • WordPress-savvy support team
  • Only $5/month
  • Can be tried for free during 30 days
  • One Click WordPress Installation

Good news! You can try WP WebHost for 30 days for free. Just click here to get started.

Looks great for just $5 a month, although HostGator is a great service at like $7.95 so they have a little bit of competition there

Only $5 a month? Thats really a good deal!

I’ll have to check it out. Currently I’m using bluehost, and have had pretty good success. However, it’s always good to keep an eye open to new options. Thanks for the post!

I stumbled over it few days i ago and i thought like a deal to give a try. Their free one-month option is very promising, so i am sure the quality is top-notch.

For 5 dollars it might be worth giving it a try.

This sounds interesting. I use bluehost as well but the notion of a hosting service that can tend any of my needs with my Wordpress blog is alluring. I’m going to look into it further.

Looks interesting. I only pay $42/year with ASmallOrange.com, but I only get 400MB storage and 10GB/month. Never had a problem or been down, though. I may look into this when my year is up in May. Site bookmarked. Thanks! Please post followups on how it goes!

I am very satisfied with my hosting company, but I like the fact that you can test this out 30 days for free, so it’s a good way to look into it.

5$ a month? It’s almost free! And if you’re saying that it’s WP-specific I just might give it a try. If your site can’t survive digg-effect you NEED to change your host as soon as possible.

Anything that focuses on a certain brand or niche can be a good thing!. WP dedicated hosting can be so advantageous for WP users. (What about me, im on blogger)

I like the idea of WP-specific web hosting. They’ve found their “niche” (well it is small market compared to selling for everyone) but they’re doing it exeptionaly well and it’s working for them.

Sounds good… The host I start sites out on is cheaper, but you get what you pay for… I may need to look into moving my blogs over if it’s that good :)

I have tried many hosts and a lot of them are shared. I’ll say that we should use wordpress specific hosts or those hosts who offer services for wordpress. I think it is much better to use them if we have plans to run only wordpress.

I’ve been with them for 3 months. So far so good :)

Allgood, all cool, but honestly I do not think this is a brand new hosting company (or is it?), if not, who are the people behind it?

  19. Posted March 11, 2009 at 6:51 am | Permalink

It is so important to host with a reputable company. They have policies and procedures that they abide by. Sometime cheap is dangeroug
