The weird and wonderful world of domaining

Back in June, I wanted to create a blog in English about the things I love: Web development, web design and blogging. I started to create a design for my future blog, then I started to search for good domain name.
Finding the “catswhocode.com” domain name took me almost one week of intense research and reflexion.
Why? Simply because many domains are already taken, especially if you want a dot com extension.
To help website owners to solve that problem and find the perfect domain name, Daniel Scocco from Daily Blog Tips wrote this ebook.
I purchased it last week, and something like two days after, a friend of mine, who’s looking forward to create a “Make money online” blog, asked me if I can help him to find a cool domain name for his blog. I was very enthusiastic about this because I thought that was a great idea to test, in real condition, the quality of the Killer Domains ebook.

Killer Domains first chapters are dedicated to basic tips and how-tos: how to XXX, why XXX, what’s XXX, etc…
Then, and this is a probably the most usefull part of the book, Daniel provide a huge list of prefixes and suffixes to help you finding the perfect domain. I didn’t count all the keywords, but they’re something like 150 word to add value to your domain name.
The last part of the book contains tips and tricks to manage your domain names, create a domain parking, use your unused domains and more. Also, an usefull list of tools to help you finding and managing your domains is inclued.
So, let’s go back into my friend’s story: After reading Killer Domains, I was able to find a dozen of cool domain names that fits my friend’s need. I gave him my list, and 3 of them were very appealing to him. I was also able to tell him about the mistakes he was ready to make because of what I learnt by reading Daniel’s ebook.
Finally, my friend e-mailed me yesterday to let me know which domain he picked. He’s very happy about it, and his heavily working on creating his blog. Of course, I’ll not forget to notify you when it will be published.
