WordPress Unofficial forums launched!
Posted by Jean-Baptiste Jung on Nov 15, 2008 in WordPress • 18 commentsAre you, like me, a WordPress addict? If yes, I got some good news for you: Kyle Eslick, the guy behing WpHacks.com and the Success With WordPress ebook, finally launched WpForums, the unofficial WordPress forums.
There's many blogs about WordPress, but what about forums? Excepted the official WP forum, I didn't know any good WordPress related forum.
Well, this has changed last week due to my friend Kyle Eslick who recently created WordPress Forums.
For those who don't know, Kyle is the author of WpHacks.com, which is the best WP related blog around in my opinion. I am a moderator on WordPress Forums, so if you like my article here at Cats Who Code or on WpRecipes, you should definitely join us!
Forums availables
- WordPress Discussions - Discussing anything WordPress. Releases, betas, news...
- WordPress Support - You know it, it isn't easy to find support when you have a particular problem with WordPress. This forum has been created to help you find answers to all your WordPress questions.
- WordPress Themes - Whatever it's free or premium, any blogger loves to have a great looking WordPress theme. If you're a theme designer, this is also the right place to show your work.
- WordPress Plugins - Like the themes, this is the place to discuss anything about plugins. Questions, looking for
- WordPress Employment - Are you a WordPress expert looking for a job or some freelance work? Or do you need a WordPress coder to achieve a particular task? Here's the forum to find some work or someone to work for you.
And you, what do you think about WpForums? Let me know!

JBJ,
Thanks for mentioning WP Forums here!
I’ve added a couple forums since launch, so if there is something people want to talk about that doesn’t really fit anywhere, just let me know.
Also, if you don’t like that design, I have another design if you scroll down to the bottom and select the other style. Just ignore the logo for now, as I haven’t had time to add a custom logo yet to that style.
@Kyle Eslick: Glad you liked the post! I hope it will bring a bunch of new members to WpForums!
awesome!
Hey wait … I’m one of Wordpress geeks, and I’ll register now :D.
For JBJ, thanks for the info
I’m a Wordpress lover too. I’m now exploring about the plugins. I think the forum is the best place to find out more. Thanks!
Finally underground Wordpress blog! I can’t to get logged on!
I’m glad that there is another Wordpress forum out there. I’m not a fan of the official one.
Congratulations for launching WP forums. It is something that wp community really needs. I hope the forum will grow up and i am sure it will be very useful for everyone.
Too bad it’s on vBulletin.
I’m love Wordpress too. I’m trying to get the most out of WP with plugins such as this. I am thinking of launching a membership site and I will take this plugin for a test-drive. I think my members will love it too.
Thanks! & Congratulations!
Care to explain? vBulletin is the premiere forum software on the internet and is absolutely incredible. If you are unhappy with the design, a new one is in the works and will be launched soon hopefully.
I agree that Jura’s comment should have been better with some explanation on why you don’t like vBulletin.
Personnally, I think it is awesome!
vBulletin is a great tool for a forum..
Will have to check it out soon! I like Wordpress a ton.
Excellent, I have been looking for something like this!
Now thats another place for some good discussion..
Just what I need right now, as I’m getting to grips with Wordpress.
Nice forum & great name… too bad it doesn’t seem that active. I’ll bookmark it for future use
@ drivelocity - I think it will become more active in time. A lot of people have been wanting support and posting questions there, but those types aren’t going to be regular visitors. They post a question, get an answer, and only come back if they eventually have other questions come up. As far as the WordPress niche as a whole, it seems there isn’t enough News stuff to warrant to much activity.
With that said, if you knew the financial resources I’ve already committed to getting these forums launched, you’d understand I am very committed to making it work. I’ve got a few ideas for contests or other things to help get a stronger community around it, but if you have any feedback please let me know. (Admin AT WPForums DOT com.)
We just put up a new design and I’m confident that in time it will grow to become a useful resource within the WordPress community.
